Moreland, Stewart, DMD

Dr. Moreland is a St. Louis native. He obtained his undergraduate degree from University of Missouri. He obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from Washington University in St. Louis.

After a one year General Practice Residency at the Washington University Medical Center and The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, he moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at St. Francis Medical Center. Dr. Moreland is very appreciative and grateful to the training and guidance from the St. Francis program director, Chester J. Chorazy, D.D.S., M.S. The focus of his residency training was on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions involving the face, jaws, teeth and associated structures; however, he spent significant time training in medicine, general surgery, anesthesia, critical care and pathology.

During his final year of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training, Dr. Moreland’s surgery training included a 2 month rotation in trauma care at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida under the direction of Stuart N. Kline, D.D.S. and Robert Marx, D.D.S.

Dr. Moreland earned his Diplomate status from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1989. He provides a full scope of care in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, however, he has a particular clinical interest in the surgical management of impacted Wisdom Teeth, treatment of associated infections and tumors.
